WV Family Law, Domestic Violence, and Abuse & Neglect Defense Lawyer

We handle divorce and related matters, including child custody, child support, visitation, spousal support (alimony), paternity, and equitable distribution of property. We do everything we can to serve the best interests of children and to resolve these issues amicably. However, when it is time to go to court, you can trust that we have the skill and experience needed to get the best results possible.

Domestic violence allegations frequently arise in divorce proceedings as one party tries to gain an unfair advantage over the other. While we take such allegations very seriously, and advise counseling and treatment for those who are guilty of family violence or abuse, we recognize the immediate and far-reaching effects of false allegations. We thoroughly assess each case and offer effective legal representation and guidance.

In an Abuse & Neglect case, where there are allegations that a parent has abused and/or neglected children, the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Child Protective Services (CPS), can immediately remove the children from the home and place them in foster care, and ultimately terminate their parental rights and place the children for adoption. If someone from DHHR or CPS wants to talk to you regarding your children, please contact us immediately so that we can advise you on the rules of the game before you incriminate yourself.

If you have been accused of family violence, child abuse and/or neglect, we will guide you through the legal process, prepare for the hearing, vigorously protect you, and help you retain your parental rights.

WV Personal Injury Attorney

In our personal injury practice, our firm serves plaintiffs injured as a result of a wide variety of accidents, including those related to car accidents, semi truck accidents, and defective automotive products. We also represent railroad workers injured on the job. Insurance companies do everything they can to limit their liability, and you can trust that we will work tirelessly to see that they do not succeed.

Our firm also represents small businesses, such as small car dealerships, in civil litigation and appellate matters.

We take a “whole-person” approach to the practice of law, recognizing that legal decisions and legal actions have implications and effects that may be felt throughout a person’s life. We advise our clients to choose their battles and define their goals, and we plan an effective strategy accordingly.
